The device maps three HDMI inputs to one output. The input can be switched using a select button on the device or with a simple three-button IR remote. The IR receiver is connected using a 3.5mm jack, which simply maps the jack's three pins (VCC, GND, DATA) to a standard IR receiver and demodulator.
